This seemingly miscellaneous manufacturing category in Hunan comes down almost entirely to one county-level city. Shaodong holds roughly 70% of the global market for injection-moulded lighters, makes over 15 billion a year, ships to more than 120 countries, and has turned a one-cent-per-piece trade into a pillar industry.
